PHQ wishes to thank all the visitors that dropped by our booth to make this a very successful show for our company. Attendance of 22,000 reflects the drop in the mining and exploration industry. In 2013 there were 30,147 falling to 25,144 in 2014 then 23,578 last year. Lower attendance did not dampen the obvious upbeat and optimistic outlook of delegates. President of PDAC Rod Thomas emphasized the new money coming into the industry and commodity markets starting to trend upwards to drive new vigour. More than 100 countries around the world including 16 foreign mines ministers attended the show with a good turnout of Canadian parliamentarians, ministers and two premiers. They were there for the first International Mines Ministers Summit (IMMS). Canada’s Natural Resources Minister, Jim Carr, led a discussion working on resolving issues affecting the mining and exploration industry.
